Style recipe for Suno v5
Hardcore Hip-Hop
Hardcore hip-hop from the 1990s: pounding four-count kick, gritty organ stab, detuned synth brass, aggressive and menacing in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Hardcore hip-hop grew out of the East Coast scene in the 1980s and made aggression the point: confrontational lyrics, rough, noisy production. Run-DMC are credited as the first hardcore group, with "It's Like That" (1983) often named as the first hardcore rap record, and Schoolly D in Philadelphia and Too $hort in Oakland took up the stance early. Before gangsta rap had a formula, Boogie Down Productions and Ice-T wrote detailed reports from the street, and the chaotic sound collages on Public Enemy records set new standards for hip-hop production. By the late 1980s the style had moved west and become nearly synonymous with N.W.A and West Coast gangsta rap. Wu-Tang Clan pulled it back to New York with sparse beats and haunting piano and string samples that other hardcore artists widely imitated, and in the late 1990s The Notorious B.I.G., DMX and Jay-Z sold platinum while Onyx and M.O.P. worked outright yelling into their verses. Gangsta rap is usually treated as an offshoot, yet the style was never only that: KRS-One, Immortal Technique and Dead Prez used it for revolutionary lyrics. In the 2010s punk rap fused it with hardcore punk, with Denzel Curry at the front.
