History
Warbringer is an American thrash metal band formed in 2004 in Newbury Park, California. The group grew out of a high-school friendship between guitarist John Laux and Victor Mikhaltsevich, who soon brought in vocalist John Kevill; they briefly used the name Onslaught before settling on Warbringer. After building a following on the Los Angeles thrash revival scene with the self-released demo Born of the Ruins (2005) and the EP One By One, the Wicked Fall (2006), the band signed to Century Media Records in 2007 - notably, the label representative had come to the show to scout a different local band but signed Warbringer instead. Debut album War Without End (2008) was produced by Bill Metoyer (Slayer, D.R.I.), and its follow-up, Waking into Nightmares (2009), reached No. 14 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Alongside acts like Evile, Havok and Bonded by Blood, Warbringer became a leading name of the late-2000s thrash metal revival, going on to release seven studio albums, most recently Wrath and Ruin (2025).
