History

Bonded by Blood is an American thrash metal band formed in Pomona, California, in mid-2005 by vocalist Jose Barrales, who took the group's name from Exodus' landmark 1985 debut album. Rounded out early on by guitarists Alex Lee and Juan Juarez, bassist Ruben Dominguez, and drummer Carlos Regalado, the band emerged as part of the mid-2000s thrash metal revival alongside acts like Evile, Gama Bomb, and Municipal Waste, channeling the sound of the classic Bay Area scene (Exodus, Forbidden, Testament). In 2006 they won a battle of the bands against more than 250 competing groups, using the prize to fund their demo, which led to the self-released 2007 EP "Extinguish the Weak" and a deal with Earache Records. Their debut full-length, "Feed the Beast" (2008), later landed at number 50 on Loudwire's "Top 50 Thrash Albums of All Time" list. Bassist Jerry Garcia joined before the 2010 follow-up "Exiled to Earth," with the band continuing to record and tour into the 2010s.
