History
Vektor is an American technical thrash metal band that formed in Tempe, Arizona. Frontman and guitarist David DiSanto started the project in December 2002 under the name Locrian; after releasing a demo, the group reformed as Vektor in 2004, developing a fast, technical style that fused thrash and speed metal with progressive rock structures. Vektor built a following in the Phoenix scene through demos and support slots for Testament, Iced Earth and Municipal Waste before releasing its debut album, Black Future, in 2009, followed by Outer Isolation in 2011. After relocating to Philadelphia, the band signed to Earache Records and released Terminal Redux (2016), a 70 minute concept album about a galactic dictator that many critics still cite as one of the genre's most ambitious records. The band split later that year, then reunited in 2020 with a new rhythm section and released the Transmissions of Chaos EP in 2021. A fourth album has been in the works since 2022.
