Malfunkshun
Grunge from the 1990s: fuzzed power-chord guitar, melodic bass, hard-hitting drums, raw and defiant in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History
Malfunkshun formed in Seattle in 1980, when 14-year-old Andrew Wood and his older brother Kevin Wood spent an Easter Sunday alone at home and recorded their first demo tape; drummer Regan Hagar soon joined. The trio fused heavy metal, punk, and glam rock, standing apart from Seattle's grungier peers with Wood's flamboyant showmanship and a vocal range often compared to Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant. Onstage each member used an alter ego, Wood as "Landrew the Love Child," Kevin as "Kevinstein," Hagar as "Thundarr." The band never released a full album, but two tracks, "With Yo' Heart (Not Yo' Hands)" and "Stars-n-You," appeared on the 1986 compilation Deep Six alongside Soundgarden, Green River, and the Melvins, work now regarded as a founding document of grunge. Malfunkshun dissolved in 1988; Wood went on to front Mother Love Bone before his death in 1990, and surviving members later released archival recordings, including Return to Olympus and Southern Lord's Olympus Awaits.
