History
L'One, born Levan Gorozia on October 9, 1985 in Krasnoyarsk, is a Russian rapper of Georgian descent. Raised partly in Yakutsk, where he played basketball for the regional team until a knee injury pushed him toward music, he later moved to Moscow and co-founded the hip-hop group Marselle with fellow rapper Nel. Marselle's 2008 debut album Mars produced the single "Moscow," which was featured in Timur Bekmambetov's Hollywood production The Darkest Hour (released in Russia as Fantom) and topped a Moscow radio chart for 32 weeks. In 2012 L'One signed to Timati's label Black Star Inc., where between 2013 and 2019 he released three space-themed solo albums, including Sputnik (2013), whose single "Vse Tantsuyut Loktyami" became the defining hit of his solo career. He also ran the streetwear line Cosmokot under the Black Star Wear brand. He left Black Star in 2019 and has continued recording independently since; detailed information about his post-2019 output is scarce online.
