History
Cinderella is an American rock band formed in 1983 in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, a Philadelphia suburb, by singer-guitarist-keyboardist Tom Keifer and bassist Eric Brittingham. Guitarist Jeff LaBar and drummer Fred Coury rounded out the classic lineup. The band's break came when Jon Bon Jovi caught their set at Philadelphia's Empire Rock Club and pushed his A&R contact to sign them. Their 1986 debut, Night Songs, went triple platinum and hit No. 3 on the Billboard 200, launching Cinderella as one of the era's leading glam metal acts before their sound shifted toward blues rock on Long Cold Winter (1988) and later albums. Radio hits like "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)" kept them on MTV rotation throughout the late 1980s. They toured relentlessly, including a 254-show run and a 1989 appearance at the Moscow Music Peace Festival alongside Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, and Motley Crue. Cinderella has sold roughly 15 million records worldwide, though the band went inactive after 2014 and Keifer has said there are no reunion plans.
