Style recipe for Suno v5
Russian Rap
Russian rap from the 2010s: boom bap break, moody grand piano, warm sub bass, melancholic and defiant in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Russian rap is usually traced to 1984, when the rock band Chas Pik, or Rush Hour, released a tape album called Rap, its title track built on multiplication tables and modelled on the funk of Rapper's Delight. Breakdancing carried hip hop culture into the country, and around the turn of the 1990s the first names broke through: Mister Maloy, Bad Balance, Malchishnik and Bogdan Titomir. At the end of the 1990s Rostov-on-Don was seen as the centre of the scene, and its flagship Kasta became the first rap group to win awards from both of the country's music channels, MTV Russia Music Awards in 2004 and Muz-TV in 2006. In the 2000s the genre went mass-market with Ligalize, Basta and Timati, while Moscow underground acts such as Smoky Mo and 25/17 built their own following and Centr took an MTV Russia award in 2008. The 2010s brought a boom led by Oxxxymiron, Husky and Skryptonite, plus rap battles online. Rap also turned political: in November 2018, banned from performing at a club in Krasnodar, Husky climbed onto a car roof and rapped to fans in the street until the police took him away.
