History
Tati (real name Murassa Urshanova) is a Russian singer and songwriter born July 15, 1989, in Moscow, of Assyrian descent. Her family lived in the United States, in Los Angeles, for about five years during her childhood before returning to Moscow, where she trained in violin and studied stage performance with the children's ensemble Neposedy alongside future stars such as Sergey Lazarev. She began recording hip-hop tracks as a teenager, first at the CAO Records studio, then joined producer Vasily Vakulenko's (Basta) Gazgolder collective around 2007, becoming its only female artist and lending her voice to tracks by Basta, AK-47, and other label acts. Her debut solo album, produced with Vakulenko and Vadim "Kupe" Karpenko, was released on March 8, 2014, and included a cover of Mikhey's ballad "Mama" dedicated to her own mother and a track built on Marina Tsvetaeva's poetry. She left Gazgolder in September 2016 and released her second album, Drama, in January 2017. Detailed biographical information about her career after that point is scarce online.
