History

Miyagi & Andy Panda are a Russian rap duo from Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia, formed around 2015 when Azamat Kudzaev (b. 1990), performing as Miyagi, teamed up with Soslan Burnatsev (b. 1995), previously known as Endshpil and renamed Andy Panda in 2018. Miyagi took his stage name from Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Their sound blends hip-hop with reggae, dancehall and R&B, built around melodic hooks rather than aggressive verses, a style often grouped under Russia's "hookah rap" scene. The pair debuted together with the 2016 album Hajime, and that same year released "I Got Love" featuring Rem Digga, which went on to surpass one billion YouTube views, becoming one of the most-watched Russian-language songs ever. The duo paused activity for nine months in 2017 after the death of Kudzaev's infant son, and has since taken part in charity fundraising, including a campaign that raised over 50 million rubles for a sick child's medical treatment.
