Style recipe for Suno v5
Death Metal
Brutal death metal from the 2010s: thick downtuned chug, marching gallop riff, double kick drive, triumphant and defiant in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Death metal split off from thrash in the mid-1980s, taking the speed of Slayer and Kreator and the Satanic imagery of Venom and pushing both further. The sound rests on low-tuned, heavily distorted guitars played with palm muting and tremolo picking, blast beats on double kick drums, sudden shifts of tempo and meter, and a growled vocal. Two bands are most often named as the first: Possessed from the San Francisco Bay Area, whose Seven Churches came out in 1985, and Death from Florida, whose 1987 debut Scream Bloody Gore has been called the first true death metal record. Death's leader Chuck Schuldiner became known as the father of the genre, and the band's 1991 album Human became a landmark of technical death metal. Where the name came from is still argued over: Possessed had a 1984 demo called Death Metal, and Death, still going by Mantas, had one titled Death by Metal. By 1989 labels were signing bands fast, Morbid Angel's Altars of Madness redefined what heavy meant, and in 1992 and 1993 Morbid Angel and Cannibal Corpse saw modest commercial success. The style then splintered into melodic death metal, death-doom, deathgrind and deathcore.
