Style recipe for Suno v5
Blackened Death Metal
Blackened death metal from the 2000s: tremolo riffs, blast beats, double kick, menacing and aggressive in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Blackened death metal took shape in the early 1990s, when black metal bands started borrowing from death metal and the other way round. The overlap was built in: both styles grew in the 1980s out of the same extreme metal bands, among them Dark Angel, Possessed, Kreator, Sodom, Venom, Celtic Frost and Bathory, and Darkthrone played death metal before becoming a black metal cornerstone. The sound pairs death growls, low-tuned guitars and abrupt tempo shifts with tremolo picking, blast beats and Satanic lyrics, and the corpse paint comes straight from black metal. Canada's Blasphemy fused the two on Fallen Angel of Doom in 1990 and opened the road to war metal, while Sweden's Dissection brought black metal into Gothenburg melodic death on The Somberlain in 1993. Behemoth moved from pagan black metal to occult death metal with Pandemonic Incantations in 1998 and later topped the Polish album chart with both Evangelion and The Satanist. Skeletonwitch reached number 62 on the Billboard 200. In 2016 the style even drew a supergroup, Sinsaenum, with Frédéric Leclercq of DragonForce, Joey Jordison of Slipknot and Attila Csihar of Mayhem.
