Inspiration, name-free
Porter Robinson
Progressive house from the 2010s: rolling arpeggiated synths, sidechained bass, four-on-the-floor kick, hypnotic and euphoric in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
Style: Progressive house
History
Porter Robinson (born Porter Weston Robinson, July 15, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina) is an American DJ, singer, songwriter, and record producer. Self-taught, he began making music at 12 and signed to Skrillex's OWSLA label at 18, releasing the Spitfire EP in 2011 in the "complextro" style he helped define. His 2014 debut album Worlds marked a sharp turn toward melodic, nostalgia-driven, anime-influenced electronic pop and topped Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart; he won the 2015 MTVU Artist of the Year award and made DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list seven years running. In 2016 he and fellow producer Madeon released "Shelter," paired with an acclaimed anime short film. Under the alias Virtual Self he earned a Grammy nomination for "Ghost Voices" (2017). His second album, Nurture (2021), again hit number one on the Dance/Electronic chart and topped The Fader's albums-of-the-year list; a third album, Smile! :D, followed in 2024 with a 70-plus-date world tour. He also co-wrote Zedd's hit "Clarity."
