Inspiration, name-free
Illenium
Progressive house from the 2010s: rolling arpeggiated synths, sidechained bass, four-on-the-floor kick, hypnotic and euphoric in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
Style: Progressive house
History
Illenium is the stage name of Nicholas Daniel Miller, an American DJ, producer, and songwriter born December 26, 1990, in Downers Grove, Illinois. He started producing electronic music in 2008 but only committed to it after seeing Bassnectar perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in 2012; before he broke through, he coached lacrosse at Aspen High School and delivered sushi to make ends meet. He moved to Denver in 2013, where he still lives, and released his debut EP that year. His sound blends future bass, dubstep, and progressive house with elements of pop punk and electronic rock. His 2016 debut album Ashes was followed by Ascend (2019), his first to top the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and Fallen Embers (2021), which brought his first Grammy nomination. Fifty-seven of his songs have charted on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs list, including the 2019 hits "Good Things Fall Apart" with Jon Bellion and "Takeaway" with the Chainsmokers. His remix of Flume's "Say It" won Remix of the Year at the inaugural Electronic Music Awards in 2017, and he made Forbes' 30 Under 30 in 2020.
