History
Majid Jordan is a Canadian-Bahraini R&B duo formed in Toronto in 2011, pairing vocalist Majid Al Maskati (born in Bahrain) with producer Jordan Ullman (born in Toronto). The two met at a bar during Majid's birthday party while both were students at the University of Toronto and started making music together within the week, working out of Jordan's dorm room and later his parents' basement. Their early EP Afterhours, released under the pseudonym Good People, caught the ear of Drake producer Noah "40" Shebib, leading to a deal with OVO Sound. Their profile jumped in 2013 when they co-wrote and were featured on Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home," a top-five hit in the US and Canada. Their self-titled 2016 debut album reached No. 6 on the US R&B chart, followed by The Space Between (2017) and Wildest Dreams (2021), which included the Drake collaboration "Stars Align." The duo also appeared as the Halal Brothers on Hulu's comedy series Ramy.
