History
PARTYNEXTDOOR, born Jahron Anthony Brathwaite on July 3, 1993, in Mississauga, Ontario, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer working in alternative R&B, hip hop, and dancehall. He grew up singing in church choir with his mother and started producing beats in his bedroom during high school, dropping out at 16 to pursue music in Los Angeles. In 2013 he became the first artist signed to Drake's OVO Sound imprint, releasing a self-titled debut mixtape that drew critical praise. His debut album PartyNextDoor Two (2014) produced the quadruple-platinum single "Recognize" featuring Drake, and PartyNextDoor 3 (2016) reached number three on the Billboard 200. His 2020 album Partymobile spawned "Believe It" with Rihanna, his first Billboard Hot 100 top-40 hit, and his 2025 collaborative album with Drake, Some Sexy Songs 4 U, became his first to debut atop the Billboard 200. Beyond his own catalog, he co-wrote Rihanna's "Work" and DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts."
