dvsn
Alternative R&B from the 2010s: 80s synth pads, gated reverb drums, sub bass, seductive and melancholic in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History
Dvsn (stylized lowercase, pronounced "division") is a Canadian R&B duo from Toronto formed in 2015, made up of singer Daniel Daley and producer/songwriter Nineteen85 (Paul Jefferies). They debuted anonymously in September 2015 with the songs "The Line" and "With Me", which gained traction after airing on Drake's OVO Sound radio show on Apple's Beats 1. In February 2016 they were revealed as signees to Drake's OVO Sound label, and their debut album SEPT. 5th followed weeks later, praised for its slow, narcotic alternative-R&B sound. Morning After (2017) reached the Canadian Top 20, and they went on to release A Muse in Her Feelings (2020), the Ty Dolla Sign collaboration Cheers to the Best Memories (2021), and Working on My Karma (2022). Nineteen85 is also known for producing Drake hits like "Hotline Bling" and "One Dance" and has multiple Grammy nominations. A notable trivia point: the duo deliberately withheld their identities and photos for months after their first singles dropped, letting the music itself build anticipation before the OVO Sound reveal.
