History
Jessie J, born Jessica Ellen Cornish on 27 March 1988 in Chadwell Heath, London, is an English singer-songwriter known for blending soul vocals with contemporary R&B, electropop and hip-hop beats. Before her solo breakthrough she worked as a songwriter, penning Miley Cyrus's "Party in the U.S.A." and contributing to tracks for Chris Brown. Signed to Lava/Republic/Island, she released her debut single "Do It Like a Dude" in 2010, followed by "Price Tag", which topped charts in nineteen countries. Her 2011 debut album, Who You Are, made her the first British female artist to score six top-ten UK singles from a single studio album, and earned her the Critics' Choice Brit Award and BBC's Sound of 2011. Later albums include Alive (2013), Sweet Talker (2014), featuring the Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj collaboration "Bang Bang", her highest US chart entry, and the four-part R.O.S.E. (2018). She graduated the BRIT School in 2006 alongside classmates Adele and Leona Lewis, and coached on The Voice UK, The Voice Australia and The Voice Kids UK.
