Crystal Castles
Distorted chiptune electropunk from the 2010s: Atari chiptune lead, blown-out distorted kick, square-wave bass drone, aggressive and menacing in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History
Toronto, 2006: producer Ethan Kath and singer Alice Glass began putting out singles built from blown-out 8-bit tones and drum machines pushed past the point of distortion. The first two albums, Crystal Castles (2008) and (II) (2010), pair chiptune leads with vocals that are screamed, buried in effects, or both, and the songs move between harsh noise and something close to straight dance-pop, sometimes inside a single track. "Not in Love" gained a second life when Robert Smith of the Cure sang the 2010 version. (III) arrived in 2012, recorded partly in Warsaw, and is darker and slower. Glass left in 2014, and the split later turned public and bitter. Kath carried on with a new singer, Edith Frances, on Amnesty (I) in 2016. The visual identity matched the audio damage: black-and-white images processed until they fall apart.
