History
Aitch, born Harrison James Armstrong on 9 December 1999 in New Moston, Manchester, is an English rapper who emerged from the UK's grime and hip-hop scene in the late 2010s. His stage name simply comes from the way the letter "H" is pronounced, the first letter of his birth name. He broke through in 2018 with the freestyle track "Straight Rhymez," which racked up over 12 million views and caught the attention of Stormzy. His 2019 single "Taste (Make It Shake)" became his first major hit, debuting at number eight on the UK Singles Chart, eventually peaking at number two and going double platinum. His debut studio album, Close to Home (2022), reached number two on the UK Albums Chart, and he has since notched eleven UK top-10 singles, including "Baby," which also peaked at number two. One genuinely personal touch: "My G," featuring Ed Sheeran, is written about his younger sister Gracie, who has Down's syndrome. In 2025 he made his reality TV debut on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
