History
Young Thug, born Jeffery Lamar Williams on August 16, 1991, in Atlanta, Georgia, emerged in the early 2010s as one of the most distinctive voices in Southern hip-hop. Known for a warbling, unpredictable vocal delivery and a genre-blurring style pulling from trap, dancehall, and pop, he built his name through mixtapes like "1017 Thug" (2013) and "Barter 6" (2015) before his 2019 debut studio album, "So Much Fun," entered the Billboard 200 at number one. He founded YSL Records (Young Stoner Life), mentoring artists including Gunna and Lil Keed.
