Style recipe for Suno v5
Latin Trap
Latin trap from the 2020s: dark bell melody, distorted sub boom, dembow rim pattern, menacing and seductive in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Latin trap grew out of Puerto Rico as a Spanish-language branch of Southern hip hop and trap, shaped by reggaeton and R&B. The beat is trap's, which The Fader described in 2017 as lurching bass lines and jittering 808s, under vocals that slide between rapping and singing with Auto-Tune, in Spanish or Spanglish, about street life, drugs, sex and violence. Nobody agrees on the start date. Ozuna points to “El Pistolón” from 2007, while De la Ghetto says he was doing it around 2005 or 2006, when people thought he was crazy. Around 2014 Myke Towers and others started posting tracks online, and hits followed from Anuel AA, Farruko and De la Ghetto. Bad Bunny became the face of the boom, reaching radio via Becky G's “Mayores” and winning a Latin Grammy for his 2018 debut X 100pre. That same year “Te Boté” became the first song with Latin trap elements to top Hot Latin Songs, and Cardi B's “I Like It” with Bad Bunny and J Balvin became the first Latin trap song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2020 Bad Bunny and J Balvin brought the genre to the Super Bowl halftime show.
