Style recipe for Suno v5

Atmospheric black metal

menacingspaciousraw150–220 BPM

Atmospheric black metal from the 1990s: tremolo guitars, blast beats, cold synth pads, menacing and spacious in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History

Atmospheric black metal slows black metal down and fills the space with synthesizers. The genre is usually dated to 1994 and Burzum's Hvis Lyset Tar Oss, the album that fixed its template: buzzing, heavily distorted guitars, a synth line running underneath, slow tempos and drums that simply follow them. Varg, the man behind Burzum, said it was the first album on which he played music rather than merely playing instruments. Ulver followed with Bergtatt, setting clean vocals and acoustic passages against a raw sound, and Darkspace and Summoning later widened the style's range. The lyrics turn away from pure black metal's aggression toward forests, lakes, nature and mythology, which makes the genre gentler than its parent. It found its wider audience in the 2000s.
