History
Robyn (born Robin Miriam Carlsson, 12 June 1979, Stockholm, Sweden) is a Swedish singer, songwriter and producer known for fusing synth-pop and electronic dance music with emotionally raw lyrics. Signed to Ricochet/BMG as a teenager, she worked with hitmakers Max Martin and Denniz Pop and broke through with the single "Show Me Love" and the album Robyn Is Here (1995). After leaving Jive Records in 2004, she founded her own label, Konichiwa Records, gaining full creative control; the self-titled Robyn (2005) yielded the UK No. 1 "With Every Heartbeat" and a Grammy nomination. Her defining work is the Body Talk trilogy (2010), whose lead single "Dancing on My Own" became a critically acclaimed club-pop anthem later ranked among the best songs of its decade by several major outlets. After an eight-year hiatus, she returned with Honey (2018), including "Missing U." Robyn has earned multiple Grammy nominations and is widely credited with shaping the sound of melancholic dance-pop that influenced a generation of pop and electronic artists.
