History
OG Buda is the stage name of Grigory Alekseevich Lyakhov, a Russian rapper born January 10, 1994, in Tyumen, Russia. His family relocated to Budapest, Hungary while he was a child, following his father's involvement in Tyumen's "Desyatka" organized crime group; the elder Lyakhov died in 1995. Growing up in Budapest, he attended a school affiliated with the Russian embassy, where he became friends with fellow future rapper Feduk. OG Buda works across hip-hop, trap, and Russian drill, and is a member of the collectives RNDM Crew (since 2017) and Melon Music (since 2020). He released his first single, "1000 Freestyle," in 2017, and gained wider attention after Feduk named him, alongside Big Baby Tape, as one of Russia's most promising rappers in a 2018 interview with Yuri Dud. His 2018 single "Tourlife," a tribute to XXXTentacion's "Moonlight," significantly expanded his fanbase. He has collaborated with Feduk, Egor Kreed, Morgenshtern, and Basta, and in 2022 was named a winner in Forbes Russia's "30 Under 30" music category. In 2021 he also played a supporting role in the television series "Pushkin's Tales for Adults."
