History
Morgenshtern (born Alisher Tagirovich Valeyev, 17 February 1998, in Ufa, Bashkortostan) is a Russian rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer. He first gained attention in 2017 with music-parody videos on YouTube, then pivoted to original material in 2018, blending rap, trap, and later rock influences. His breakout album Legendarnaja pyl' (2020) set a VKontakte streaming record, racking up over 21 million plays in its first two days. Follow-up releases Million Dollar: Happiness and Million Dollar: Business (both 2021) cemented his mainstream status, alongside collaborations such as "Cadillac" with Eldzhey and the TikTok-viral single "Ice." In July 2021, Spotify named him the most-streamed artist from Russia. His brash public persona and provocative stunts drew constant media attention. He relocated abroad in 2021 and kept releasing music through the mid-2020s, including the 2025 EP Alisher and the 2026 live album Dead Sea Live.
