History
кис-кис play loud, catchy pop-punk with a nod to the nu-metal its members grew up on, and every song title is written in lowercase. The band formed in Saint Petersburg in November 2018 around singer Sofya Somuseva and drummer Alina Olesheva, who met at music school and cite Linkin Park, Slipknot, Korn and Papa Roach as early inspirations. Their first video went viral almost immediately, and the debut album юность в стиле панк followed in March 2019. The video for молчи spread even further, and within its first year the band had played the Нашествие festival and appeared on Вечерний Ургант. The EP магазин игрушек для взрослых came out on Rhymes Music in 2019, the album пир во время чумы in September 2020 and как перестать беспокоиться и начать жить in July 2022. In 2021 the band won the Взлом category at the Чартова дюжина awards. After speaking out against the war in 2022, it saw concerts in Russia cancelled. кис-кис are recognised by bright, shout-along choruses, hard-hitting drums and blunt humour about gender stereotypes, dating and young adult life.
