Style recipe for Suno v5
Melodic Metalcore
Melodic metalcore choruses from the 2010s: harmonized leads, breakdown chugs, double kick, anthemic and aggressive in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Melodic metalcore grew in the late 1990s, when metalcore bands began folding Swedish melodic death metal into their sound: the harmonized riffs and tremolo picking of At the Gates and In Flames set against metalcore breakdowns, double bass drumming and vocals that move between screams, growls and clean singing. Shadows Fall on Somber Eyes to the Sky (1997), Darkest Hour and Unearth were early names, Florida's Poison the Well drew the template many later bands followed, and Belgian groups such as Arkangel were heading the same way by 1998. Killswitch Engage's Alive or Just Breathing (2002) influenced many later bands, and their As Daylight Dies (2006) spent 22 weeks on the Billboard 200 and went platinum in 2021. A more accessible sound than most extreme music brought real sales: Shadows Fall's The War Within entered the Billboard album chart at 20 in 2004, As I Lay Dying earned a Grammy nomination for Nothing Left, Bullet for My Valentine opened Fever at number 3 in the US, and Australia's Parkway Drive reached number three on the Billboard rock chart with Deep Blue in 2010. Trivium and Bullet for My Valentine also pulled heavily from thrash.
