History
The Dove Shack were an American G-funk group from Long Beach, California, active from 1994 to 2006 (with brief reunions in 2017 and 2018). The trio, made up of C-Knight, Bo-Roc, and 2Scoops, first appeared on Warren G's 1994 album "Regulate...G Funk Era" with the track "This Is the Shack," before releasing their own debut album of the same name in 1995 on G-Funk/Def Jam. That album produced their best-known single, "Summertime in the LBC," featuring vocalist Arnita Porter, which reached the Billboard Hot 100 and became a lasting West Coast summer anthem, later appearing on the soundtrack to the film "The Show." Their debut album peaked at number 68 on the Billboard 200 and number 13 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. After years of relative quiet, the group returned with a second album, "Reality Has Got Me Tied Up," in 2006. Founding member C-Knight died in November 2023 at age 52.
