History
MONA (real name Daria Kustovskaya) is a Russian pop singer and songwriter born November 5, 1996, in Rostov-on-Don. At 18 she moved to Sweden with her family and competed on Swedish Idol, reaching the show's top 20. Back in Russia, she began working with rapper and producer Elman and signed with the RAAVA Music label, distributed through VK Records. Her breakthrough came as featured vocalist on Elman's 2022 singles "Chyornaya lyubov" ("Black Love") and "Isterika" ("Hysteria"); the "Chyornaya lyubov" video has drawn more than 220 million YouTube views. As a songwriter she has written for Zivert, Mot, Elman, Philipp Kirkorov, and Dava. MONA released her debut solo album, "Dnevnik pamyati" ("Diary of Memory"), on RAAVA Music/VK Records in November 2024. In 2025 she competed on the Russian version of The Masked Singer ("Maska") as the Dalmatian, finishing runner-up, and was named to Forbes Russia's "30 Under 30" longlist in the Music category. She has also recorded with Basta, HammAli & Navai, and Loc-Dog.
