History
Mark Ronson (born Mark Daniel Ronson, 4 September 1975, London) is a British-American producer, DJ, songwriter and musician who came up as a hip-hop DJ in New York while attending NYU. His 2003 debut Here Comes the Fuzz mixed funk, disco and reggae with guests like Ghostface Killah and Jack White but sold poorly; 2007's Version, built on horn-driven retro-soul covers, became a UK hit. Ronson's real reputation was built behind the boards: he produced Amy Winehouse's Back to Black, Lily Allen's Alright, Still, and Adele's 19, and later worked with Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Duran Duran and Paul McCartney. His genre-blending peaked commercially in the 2010s with "Uptown Funk" featuring Bruno Mars, a global No. 1 that won the Grammy for Record of the Year. He also co-wrote the Oscar-winning "Shallow" for A Star Is Born and executive-produced the Barbie soundtrack. He has won seven Grammy Awards to date.
