History

Curtis James Jackson III, known as 50 Cent, is a rapper from South Jamaica, Queens, New York. He broke through in 2003 with his major-label debut Get Rich or Die Tryin', released after Eminem signed him to Shady Records and Dr. Dre co-produced the album. Its lead single, "In Da Club," topped the Billboard Hot 100, and the album debuted at No. 1, becoming one of the best-selling rap debuts in chart history. Known for hardcore East Coast rap and his G-Unit crew, he also built a notable business career, including a stake in Vitaminwater that Coca-Cola bought in 2007 for a reported $100 million payout.
