History
Tainy produces reggaeton the way a film composer scores a scene: the dembow pattern stays, but everything around it is atmosphere, reverb tails, detuned synth pads and space where another producer would put a second hook. He started young in Puerto Rico, working inside the production teams that built the genre's first commercial wave, and spent years as the name in the small print behind hits other people sang. The second half of his career made him visible, as reggaeton softened, slowed and grew more melodic, and his records with the current generation of artists are largely what defined that shift. Lo Siento BB:/ shows the method well, a track that sounds almost ambient for its first stretch before the rhythm settles into place. Mojabi Ghost leans on texture more than on percussion. What a listener recognises is the restraint, the low end kept clean and uncrowded, and a willingness to let a song stay quiet.
