History
Rita Ora (born Rita Sahatçiu, 26 November 1990) is a British singer, songwriter, and actress. Born in Pristina, Kosovo, she moved to London with her family at age one after fleeing persecution under Slobodan Milošević. Signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation, she released her debut album "Ora" in 2012, which topped the UK Albums Chart and produced three consecutive UK number-one singles — "R.I.P.," "How We Do (Party)," and "Hot Right Now" — making her the artist with the most UK chart-toppers that year. Her sound blends pop with R&B and dance influences, and 2014's "Black Widow" with Iggy Azalea reached number three on the US Billboard Hot 100. A lengthy label dispute delayed her second album "Phoenix" until 2018, but she stayed visible as a judge on The X Factor and The Masked Singer. A third album, "You & I," followed in 2023. She has also acted in the Fifty Shades film series and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, and holds two MTV Europe Music Awards.
