History
Antiloop were a Swedish electronic dance duo formed in 1994 in Lidingo, an island suburb of Stockholm, by childhood friends David Westerlund and Robin Soderman. Working across trance, techno, and Euro house, they debuted in 1995 with the EP "N.S.F.M.C. (Not Suitable For Mass Consumption)," which included the single "Beauty & the Beast." Their 1997 debut album, LP, won a Swedish Grammis and produced "In My Mind," the duo's biggest hit: it reached number four in Norway and sold over 200,000 copies in France. The track's ambient intro was sampled from The O.T. Quartet's "Hold That Sucker Down," a piece by Faithless co-founder Rollo Armstrong. A 2000 follow-up, Fastlane People, featured a drum & bass collaboration with rapper Timbuktu. Antiloop also remixed Aqua and released material under the aliases Face and The Buckwheat Rebels. Active until 2002, they collected two Grammis Awards and six Swedish Dance Music Awards, and later ran their own label, Rebels Room Records.
