History
Sasha (born Alexander Paul Coe, 4 September 1969, in Bangor, Wales) is a Welsh DJ and producer widely credited with shaping progressive house and trance in the 1990s and 2000s. He cut his teeth at Manchester's Hacienda and Shelly's before a residency at Renaissance, then rose to international prominence through mix albums with fellow British DJ John Digweed as Sasha & Digweed, most notably the Northern Exposure series (1996-1999), ranked among the best mix albums ever released. His solo work includes the 1999 EP Xpander, the mix/production hybrid Involver (2004), and Airdrawndagger (2002). In 2000, DJ Magazine voted him the world's number-one DJ, and his remix of Felix Da Housecat's "Watching Cars Go By" earned a Grammy nomination in 2004. He has also remixed tracks for Madonna and The Chemical Brothers, and held residencies at Twilo, Space Ibiza, and Fabric.
