Style recipe for Suno v5
Trance
Euphoric supersaw trance from the 1990s: supersaw chord stack, rolling piano arpeggio, hollow bell keyboard, melancholic and dreamy in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Trance came out of the techno and EBM scene of Frankfurt at the turn of the 1990s, and the city's labels shaped it: Sven Väth started the softer Eye Q in 1991 and the harder Harthouse in 1992. Väth had travelled to Goa, where DJs played psychedelic rock at beach parties to put dancers into a trance, and Dag Lerner of Dance 2 Trance claimed he gave the genre its name. A trance track works like a long inhale: one hook runs through almost the whole piece, instruments come and go every 4 to 32 bars, then a breakdown strips out the beat and leaves the melody hanging before the build. The kick sits back to make room for the bassline, minor keys are close to universal, and arpeggios run fast. Back in Goa, German trance turned into Goa trance and then psytrance, while hard trance fed into hardstyle. In Berlin, MFS Records signed Paul van Dyk in 1991. After the commercial peak of the late 1990s and early 2000s, Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance and Above & Beyond stayed popular, and from 2017 underground DJs such as Nina Kraviz worked trance back into their sets.
