Style recipe for Suno v5
Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk from the 1980s: fast downpicked guitar, palm muted chugs, hammering snare, aggressive and defiant in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Hardcore punk broke away from punk in the late 1970s, faster, harder and shorter, with early scenes in California and then Washington, D.C., Boston and New York, and a parallel strand in Britain. Its players heard post-punk and new wave as art-school softness and answered with force: buzzsaw power chords, drums as the engine of the band, abrupt tempo changes, few solos, and shouted vocals backed by crowds that sang along so loudly that at one early Minor Threat show they could be heard over the PA. Steven Blush put it plainly: it was not verse-chorus rock. Black Flag, founded in Los Angeles in 1976, took the music on tour across America and connected isolated local scenes, Bad Brains played some of the fastest punk on record, and Ian MacKaye's Minor Threat launched straight edge. Dead Kennedys and Circle Jerks sped things up in California, and bands ran their own labels such as SST and Dischord. Slam dancing grew out of these shows, and Fear's 1981 Halloween set on Saturday Night Live was cut short when moshers, John Belushi among them, stormed the stage. Hardcore went on to shape grunge and thrash metal, and Bad Religion founded the label Epitaph.
