Sub Focus
Progressive house from the 2010s: rolling arpeggiated synths, sidechained bass, four-on-the-floor kick, hypnotic and euphoric in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History
Sub Focus is the stage name of English producer and DJ Nicolaas Douwma, born 13 April 1982 in Guildford, Surrey. A self-taught musician who came up through drum and bass, drumstep and dubstep, he broke through in 2003 when a friend passed his demo CD to RAM Records boss Andy C at a club gig, with his phone number scrawled on the disc. Andy C was reportedly so impressed he called Douwma the same day and signed every track on it, launching his career on RAM's sister label Frequency. Sub Focus released his self-titled debut album in 2009, followed by Torus (2013), the collaborative Portals with Wilkinson (2020), Evolve (2023, which won Best Album at the Drum&BassArena Awards) and Contact (2025). His biggest chart hit actually came as a producer: Example's "Kickstarts," which he co-wrote and produced, reached number three in the UK singles chart. His own single "Tidal Wave" was later used in a Mercedes-Benz ad campaign alongside Tinie Tempah, and he has remixed The Prodigy, deadmau5 and Dizzee Rascal.
