History
Masterboy is a German Eurodance act founded in Frankfurt in 1990 by producers and DJs Enrico Zabler and Tommy Schleh, who met in a London club a year earlier. The project found its signature voice in 1992 when Swiss singer Beatrix "Trixi" Delgado (born Beatrice Obrecht) joined, starting with the 1993 single "Everybody Needs Somebody." Their biggest hit, "Feel the Heat of the Night" (1994), reached number 8 in Germany but became a genuine phenomenon in France, where it held number 2 for four weeks, spent ten weeks in the Top 20, and even re-entered the charts in 1995 for another eight months. Other notable tracks include "Anybody (Movin' On)" and "Generation of Love." Delgado left in 1996, and the group's fortunes cooled, though she rejoined in 2001. Masterboy remains one of the defining acts of the early-1990s German high-energy Eurodance sound.
