Kano
West Coast hip-hop from the 2010s: jazzy electric piano, live upright bass, sparse trap hats, defiant and menacing in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History
Kano is the stage name of Kane Brett Robinson, a rapper, songwriter and actor born in 1985 in East Ham, East London, to Jamaican parents. He started MCing as a teenager on pirate radio, cutting his teeth alongside future stars like Ghetts and D Double E in the Nasty Crew collective before going solo in 2005. His debut album, Home Sweet Home, went gold and set him apart from grime's rougher edges with a slower, more melodic style, followed by London Town (2007) and 140 Grime Street (2008). He guested on Gorillaz's Plastic Beach in 2010, and his 2016 album Made in the Manor was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and won Best Album at the MOBOs. Beyond music, Kano is known for playing Sully in the Channel 4/Netflix drama Top Boy. One trivia note: his stage name comes from a Mortal Kombat character, a nickname given by friends that stuck for life.
