Style recipe for Suno v5
Siberian Punk
Siberian lo-fi punk from the 1980s: blown out guitar, primitive drums, buzzing bass, raw and melancholic in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Siberian punk, or sibpank, was a circle of musicians and poets that formed in the 1980s in Omsk, Novosibirsk and Tyumen, bound by an aesthetic apart from the rock being made in Moscow, Leningrad and Sverdlovsk. Words came first, and the lyrics were read as poetry. Punk costume and carnival gave way to the manner of the holy fool, the politics were radically anti-totalitarian, and the sound was often noisy and deliberately dirty; by the late 1980s Russian folklore had worked its way in. The central figure was Omsk's Yegor Letov, called the voice of a generation, who had a hand in recording most Siberian rock bands of the time and in the mid-1980s founded Grazhdanskaya Oborona, which spun off side projects like Kommunizm. In Tyumen, Roman Neumoev's Instruktsiya po vyzhivaniyu gave its first concert in 1986 at a rock club organised by Miroslav Nemirov. Writer Vladimir Kozlov dates the end of Siberian punk as a whole to the death of Yanka Dyagileva in 1991, a year after Letov disbanded his band. Its aesthetic later inspired Alexander Nepomnyashchy, Minsk's Krasnye Zvezdy and Moscow's Konkovo formation, and from 2007 to 2013 Moscow hosted the Vechnaya Vesna festival built on its tradition.
