Style recipe for Suno v5
Punk Blues
Garage punk blues from the 1990s: fuzz electric guitar, slide guitar squall, distorted bass, raw and aggressive in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Punk blues grew from garage rock of the 1960s and 1970s and takes from punk and blues what the two share: rawness, simplicity and emotion. Chet Weise of the Immortal Lee County Killers put it this way: punk and blues are both honest reactions to life, and this is their blues, just a bit turned up and a bit faster. Before the punk movement of the late 1970s, MC5, The Stooges, The Who, The Sonics, Captain Beefheart and New York Dolls were already showing a fascination with American blues. The record usually held up as the landmark is Fire of Love by the Gun Club, released in 1981, and John Doe of the L.A. punk band X credits the group and its frontman Jeffrey Lee Pierce with inventing the style. In 1988 Social Distortion brought rockabilly, country and blues into their sound on Prison Bound, and in the early 1990s PJ Harvey explored an avant-garde version. The style came fully alive in the early 1990s with the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, the Oblivians and the Gories, and reached a larger audience in the 2000s through the popularity of The White Stripes, a product of the Detroit garage scene.
