History
E-Type is the stage name of Bo Martin Erik Erikson, a Swedish eurodance singer, songwriter and producer born in 1965 in Uppsala and raised in Stockholm. Before going solo he drummed in speed metal bands Maninnya Blade and Hexenhaus, then teamed with Stakka Bo for the 1991-92 singles "We Got the Atmosphere" and "Numania 1." His solo debut, Made in Sweden (1994), launched a run of albums through the 1990s and 2000s, including The Explorer (1996) and Last Man Standing (1998), built on a signature mix of his own rap verses over powerful female choruses, most often sung by Nana Hedin. Hits such as "Calling Your Name," "Back in the Loop" and "Here I Go Again" (a number-one single in Sweden and Finland) made him one of eurodance's most recognizable acts internationally. A genuinely notable credit: E-Type wrote and performed "Campione 2000," the official anthem of the UEFA Euro 2000 championship, and sang it live at the tournament's opening ceremony in Brussels. His stage name comes from the Jaguar E-Type sports car.
