History
Camila Cabello was born on March 3, 1997, in Cojimar, near Havana, Cuba, to a Mexican father and a Cuban mother, and moved to Miami as a child. In 2012 she auditioned as a solo contestant on the US X Factor; producers grouped her with four other girls to form Fifth Harmony, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. While still in the group she released collaborative singles, including "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly, which reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100, and left Fifth Harmony in late 2016. Her debut solo album, Camila (2018), topped the Billboard 200; its Latin-influenced lead single "Havana" (featuring Young Thug) became a global number-one and was IFPI's best-selling digital single of 2018. Her second album, Romance (2019), produced another worldwide chart-topper, "Senorita," a duet with Shawn Mendes, whom she later dated. She has since released Familia (2022) and C,XOXO (2024), and won two Latin Grammy Awards and five American Music Awards. In 2021 she starred as the title character in the film adaptation of Cinderella.
