Style recipe for Suno v5
Dark Jazz
Dark jazz from the 2000s: muted trumpet, hushed clarinet, smoky piano, menacing and melancholic in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Dark jazz is slow music that mixes jazz with ambient and keeps the lights low. It has no fixed birth date, but one of the first works to shape it is Miles Davis's 1958 soundtrack for the French film Elevator to the Gallows. Much later Bohren & der Club of Gore, one of the best-known dark jazz groups working today, rethought those reference points. The instruments stay jazz ones: drums, double bass and horns, above all saxophone and trumpet. Around them players build ambient layers, electronics, overdriven electric guitars and other sounds classic jazz rarely let into the room. Band names on the scene run long, as The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation and Dale Cooper Quartet & The Dictaphones show. In the mid-2010s the first Russian dark jazz acts appeared, among them Bebopovsky And The Orkestry Podyezdov, Low Kick Collective and Fogh Depot.
