Style recipe for Suno v5
Crunkcore
Crunkcore from the 2000s: screamed vocal, saw synth lead, distorted kick, aggressive and playful in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Crunkcore, also called crunk punk, screamo crunk or scrunk, came out of the scene subculture in the mid-2000s and mixed the Southern hip-hop of crunk with screamo, emo, electropop and dance music. The usual formula is screamed vocals over hip-hop beats, with lyrics about parties, hedonism and sex. Writer Jessica Hopper traced part of its origin to the way Panic! at the Disco fused emo with electronics, and the scene lived largely online, on Myspace. Hollywood Undead, Brokencyde and 3OH!3 are credited with creating it. Warped Tour co-founder Kevin Lyman called 3OH!3 the real tipping point, because they were the first emo-influenced act to drop traditional instruments for pre-programmed beats, and their 2008 single "Don't Trust Me" became the genre's biggest success. Not everyone screamed: 3OH!3, Millionaires and Kesha skipped the screaming and kept the explicit lyrics. Critics were brutal. The Guardian reviewed Brokencyde unfavorably, and AbsolutePunk founder Jason Tate said he had not seen that level of backlash against any single act in ten years. The style faded in the 2010s, yet it left a mark: Kerrang! later named crunkcore, alongside metalcore and nu metal, among the scenes behind hyperpop, and credited 3OH!3 with drawing its main blueprint.
