Twenty-tens theatrical occult rock from the 2010s: pipe organ pedal, palm-muted glam chords, chorused twin leads, theatrical and anthemic in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.

History

Ghost writes arena rock choruses and dresses them as a black mass. The Swedish group works through a costumed frontman whose identity changes between album cycles, backed by masked players credited only as Nameless Ghouls, and the theatre is held together by Tobias Forge, who writes the material. Musically the reference points are older than the imagery suggests: Blue Oyster Cult riffs, church organ, harmonised leads, and a melodic instinct closer to Swedish pop than to anything extreme. Cirice won a Grammy for metal performance and works because the heavy section exists to set up a chorus that resolves. Square Hammer is the clearest statement of the method, a hook so direct it converts listeners who dislike the genre. Mary on a Cross drifted into wide streaming popularity years after release, largely stripped of the band's stagecraft. The live show is a full production with vestments, incense and choreography, and the joke and the songcraft are never in competition. The recent album Skeleta entered the US chart at number one.
