Style recipe for Suno v5
Space Music
Spacemusic ambient from the 1970s: analog synth pads, slow arpeggios, choir synth, spacious and dreamy in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Space music is defined less by a sound than by an effect. The best-known description comes from Stephen Hill, co-founder of the radio show Hearts of Space, who called it contemplative music that evokes a feeling of spaciousness, and AllMusic and several retailers file it under new age as a close relative of ambient. The texture can be simple or complex, acoustic or electronic, and conventional melody, harmony and rhythm may drop out altogether. Hill says that deep listening can bring on a light trance, with sensations of floating, gliding or hovering. Much of its electronic side grew out of the kosmische musik of the Berlin School, and Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michel Jarre and Kitaro are the usual examples. The idea predates synthesizers. Critic David Hurwitz called a passage of Haydn's The Creation, from 1798, genuine space music: soft high violins and winds over low cellos and basses with nothing in the middle. Haydn conceived the piece after discussing music and astronomy with William Herschel, the discoverer of Uranus. Historian Joseph Lanza heard another precursor in Mantovani's reverberated strings of the early 1950s. The style now lives on independent labels, in planetarium shows and in film soundtracks.
