Style recipe for Suno v5
Dark Psytrance
Dark psytrance from the 2000s: rolling sixteenth bass, morphing acid lead, whispered horror samples, menacing and hypnotic in feel. A name-free Suno recipe that reproduces the signature sound without tripping the artist-name filter.
History
Dark psytrance, or dark psy, is the fastest and most distorted branch of psychedelic trance, running at 145 to 180 BPM, and that speed is part of why it earned the word dark. It took shape in Russia and Germany in the mid-1990s and spread from there across the world. Vocals are rare. The atmosphere comes from the bass line typical of psytrance and intricate rhythmic patterns in the synth parts, built with sampling, polyrhythm and syncopation, plus fragments of other genres and lines lifted from horror and science fiction films. That atmosphere draws on dark ambient, musique concrète, darkcore, power noise and industrial. Some producers, such as Xenomorph, Parasense and Kemic-Al, make it gothic and wandering; others, including Dark Soho, Highko, Cosmo and Baphomet Engine, bring in metal, especially black metal and industrial metal, while Kindzadza and Fungus Funk bend the melodic structures of ordinary psytrance with unusual melodies and effects. The style has changed a lot since its early days. It once ran at about the same speed as full-on, but modern tracks rarely drop below 150 to 160 BPM, and the mood has widened from plain infernal gloom to hazy dissociative psychedelia and outright cyberpunk.
